Great post! We actually decided upon the exact same vaccines after our research. We decided against the MMR and Chicken Pox because of the use of an aborted human fetus in the "manufacturing" process. The rest of our choices are pretty much spot on with yours and your reasoning. I wish I had stumbled across your post sooner, it would have been helpful.

Oh, we are also waiting until 6 months to start vaccinating.

Thank you! We actually do have a white noise machine, and lead a loud bathroom fan on, too. Last night her room was chillier than usual, so I am hoping that helped! Thanks for the advice!

i stumbled upon your blog. im a mom too and wanted to offer some advice that helped me. i noticed that she wakes up pretty easily to outside noise. have you tried a sound machine? my son is an amazing sleeper and thats one of the things i implented when he was born. also- we always made sure he was in cool room (mostly for sids and then just continued with it), had white noise (again for sids but still using it) - bought it off of amazon, a fan works the same way - and black out curtains. i believe those 3 things helped tremondously!

Thank you for sharing this information ... it is a little intimidating going up against "the medical community" but seeing an example of another family prayerfully considering each vaccine and making a firm decision really helps me in doing my own research and making my own decisions, and then being able to voice those to a doctor who probably will not agree.

Hang in there! You're doing great! Don't doubt yourself. Just follow your instincts...you know what's best for your daughter.

Several times a week, after Hazel's night-time feeding, she's super alert, awake, ready to play. We (usually Matt...) walk her to sleep until she goes back down. Usually takes 20 minutes...sometimes longer.

But, like you already know...every baby is TOTALLY different and every sleep situation is unique.

You're a great momma! You're doing awesome!

aw Jilly you didn't do anything wrong by nursing her so much as a newborn! That's what you're supposed to do when a newborn cries- nurse, change dipe, rock, and nurse. Some babies are great at sleeping and others....not so much. It isn't necessarily determined by what you did the first 3 months of life. I hope she turns into a great sleeper for you! :)

Oh Jill, praying Annabelle is completely healed in Jesus name and that you and Jason have peace when her tests come back without any trace of anything wrong, knowing she's healed. And praying for both of you as well, that must have been so scary. I'm praying that Jesus floods out the memory of what that was like so you don't think of what it was like in the days and weeks to come.

Wow, what a day! That sounds so scary but I'm glad Annabelle (and you!) are OK. I'll be praying for you guys, keep us updated on how she's doing. Nicely written, Jill! J is 7 weeks and I have been feeling exactly as you described. All the books and "shoulds" were really getting to me, but you're absolutely right...God gave us new mamas good instincts and we need to do what works for our babies! It may not be "convenient" or follow the "norms" but that doesn't matter. Amen for freedom in parenting how He is leading us!

I've spent 10 1/2 months worrying about all of those same things with Nola. My older two were sttn early probably because they were formula fed or supplemented for various reasons. Just in the last month as I've accepted Nola's unique schedule have things seemed much more manageable. I guess it took me a couple kids for my maternal instinct to totally kick in instead of doing it by the book all the time. :)

Love this post! It does get better. I promise. It wasn't long ago that I had that same thought pattern running through my head. And that was after having two who had slept through the night at 6 and 8 weeks. Now if I get 4 hours in a row, I feel like I'm ready to get up and be productive again. Praying for you!
