At the end of August, we went to our family's summer home in Pentwater, Michigan. We went for a few days by ourselves, and then our good friends, the Lins, joined us with their three kiddos (all under age 3!). We had a GREAT time, and it was a much needed vacation. We made the mistake (for the second year in a row) of coming back home ON Labor Day, so it took us 8 hours to get home. But, we survived the car ride, and have some great photos from our trip!

I have no idea how we will make the trip when we have more than one child. This was WITH the seats down. Granted, we had food for a week for 7 people, but still. It was packed.

The girls wanted to sit in every chair, and on every bench they passed by while we were in town. So cute!

Mmmm, ice cream!!

On my run, this was my view over Pentwater lake when I was exactly half-way done. Gorgeous!

Working diligently to build that sand castle.

Am I using this walking stick correctly? (apparently not, as she trashed out shortly after this photo was taken!)

The kiddos at story time at Storybook Village--a super cute book/toy store in Pentwater downtown. We had a great time--the kids got to participate in a puppet show, and listen to two great stories read by the owner. Then the older ones got to do a clay craft...which we thought was awesome until we found out that they charged $8.00 for a tiny little piece of clay. They didn't say a WORD about the charge before the kiddos did it. Totally blindsided. Lame. Other than that, this store was really great.

The second to last day we were there, the lake was SUPER calm in the morning--it was the only time the kids were brave enough to venture in. Jason stayed back and took pics for us, and watched baby Eliza.

Father and Son boat trip! haha...Noah wasn't thrilled :)
All in all, we had an awesome time on the vacation. Yes, all the kids were sick the majority of the time. And yes, their sleep was horrible. And yes, there were "SPIDERS!" (Annabelle) all over the place. But the kids got along great, the adults had some awesome time hanging out after the littles were finally asleep, and it was well worth the driving. A great way to "end" the summer!
