Jason's in Haiti

Jason took off last night to Chicago, and flew out this morning to go to Haiti. They were allowed to bring one carry-on bag full of their clothes, food for the week, toiletries, toilet paper, you name it. At the gate, everyone in his group got to carry their bags on, but they stopped Jason, even though his bag was the same size as everyone else's. They took his bag, and said they'd get it to him when they arrived. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and Jason's bag is missing. That means he has no clothes, lunch food, toiletries, etc...

Thankfully, he is traveling with a great group of people. One person gave him three new pairs of underwear, another person gave him a pair of shorts and a couple shirts. He got a toothbrush, too. So, he at least will have some clothes to change, thank God for that!

I called American Airlines to get help, because Jason doesn't have access to a phone. The place they are staying has wireless internet though (???), so we could Skype. The customer service rep said that only the passenger can file a claim, no one else. I carefully explained that he does not have access to a PHONE, so he cannot file a claim. She didn't care. I got mad and hung up on her. Sorry, Lord.

I called back, and asked to speak with a manager. I was practically in tears out of frustration for Jason by this point, and thankfully, the manager helped me. He allowed me to file a claim for Jason, and was actually pretty mad about the whole situation himself, which made me feel good that he seemed to care. He said that the bag is most likely in Miami, and should turn up tomorrow. He checked the list in Chicago, Miami, and Port-Au-Prince, and so far they haven't logged the bag, yet. Luckily, Jason has a lot of weird stuff in the bag to help identify it, like tuna-to-go lunches, toilet paper, etc... If they find it, they are going to try to get it to Jason, but that might be difficult given where he is. We'll have to see what happens.

Please pray that they find his bag, and that it gets to one of us safely, preferably him!

Also please be praying for the whole team down there--that God uses them, and that they come back changed and leave the people of Haiti changed a little bit, too. Please pray for their safety, and pray for healing because Pam already hurt her back.
