Most of you know that Jason went to Haiti two weeks ago. He flew out of Chicago, into Miami, and then to Port-Au-Prince. He took one carry-on with him, loaded with clothes, food, toiletries to last him the 10 days. Unfortunately, due to some whacko at American Airlines, Jason wasn't allowed to bring his bag on the plane, so they checked it, then lost it (see previous post for more details on the lost bag situation). Eventually, probably 7 days later, I gave up and just decided it was a lost cause. I even started filling out the form they sent me so that they'd just give me a settlement of money to replace his stuff.

Meanwhile, Jason was having an awesome time despite having no clothes. God really blessed him through a couple of friends who loaned him a few tshirts and clean underwear :). If you don't read his blog, you should, to see what all he did on his trip.

Jason took off from PAP on Saturday morning. He flew into Miami, and called me immediately to tell me that his bag had been in Haiti the whole time, at the PAP airport. Why I never got a phone call, I'm not sure I'll ever know. sigh. Oh well. They told him it would arrive in Chicago in a few days; unfortunately he couldn't take it with him b/c it was in their warehouse. What the heck?! BUT at least we knew where it was. Shortly after we got off the phone, he called me again to tell me that his bag just showed up on the luggage turn-style in Miami!!!! If someone hadn't seen it, there is a good chance he wouldn't have taken it because he wasn't expecting it to be there. Seriously American Airlines, get your act together!

Anyway, Jason is home safe and sound with many new experiences that have affected his life. Including the fact that he no longer takes 20 minute long showers :)
