12 weeks 2 days :)

The Belly: I definitely am pooching out a little bit, but the midwife says I won't really have a "belly" until 20-24 weeks.  I can't believe that the baby is already the size of a plum...growing so fast.

S
ymptoms: Nausea mostly in the evenings, but that's about it. Nothing new.

Weight: Well, according to my scale yesterday morning, I was 129.8 undressed. According to Carle's scale today, fully clothed I was 133.6. I'm thinking it's probably closer to 130. I hate that they weigh me fully clothed. Last time I was there I had a light cotton shirt on and cotton pants. Today I have wool socks, long underwear, cotton pants, cotton shirt, and a long sweater. Ya THINK there's going to be a big difference?! Sheesh. Oh well. Next time I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt.

Food Aversons: meat, still. I can eat chicken really small and cut up, same with bacon like in a soup or salad. But any large piece of meat makes me want to gag. Also, the smell of eggs grosses me out, even though eating them doesn't.

Food Cravings: Popsicles, still, and fruity ice cream. Also Mexican food, chips and salsa (I ate an entire container of salsa yesterday!!...maybe that weight gain IS accurate...)

Feeling: VERY excited :) We got to hear the baby's heartbeat today for the first time, and it was the most amazing sound in the world! I could have listened to it for hours. Its real now...there's a baby in there!

Other: My wonderful husband brought his digital audio recorder to the appointment today, so we got the whole heartbeat on "tape." He's going to loop it for me so I can just listen to it for a long time...what a great man he is!

I was nervous about my appointment today with Kathy at Carle, but she was wonderful and fully exceeded my expectations. She sat right now and got comfy, and just chatted with us for almost 30 minutes. She was so warm and wonderful, I was very, very thankful that it went so well!

We have our nursery colors picked out. It's based on some bedding at Target, but it's discontinued. So, mom and I are going to make it! Can't wait :)

I can't believe things are going so quickly! This pregnancy is almost 1/3 over, which is just insane to me...
