As of today, 17 days until my "due date."
Full term! It's hard to believe. Our bags are packed for the hospital, the car seat is installed, and the nursery is basically done. Now it's just a matter of waiting...(yeah right, I still have a to-do list that is a mile long!)
Physically: This heat is killing me, but I'm honestly feeling okay all things considered. The end of the day is the worst time, I feel like everything is just huge and I'm very uncomfortable. I feel great in the morning and for most of the day, though. Sleeping is definitely more challenging as I'm up every 2 hours or so to use the bathroom. Physically getting UP is hard, and takes a lot of forethought :) Still having lots of BH contractions, especially when I know I'm not drinking enough water, or if I'm exerting myself doing something. No real contractions yet, but still some cramping every now and then, too.
Weight: Still at 152.
Food Aversons: Most hot (temperature-wise) foods.
Food Cravings: smoothies, slushies, popsicles, ice cream...anything cold.
Feeling: WOW, We're having a CHILD!! that pretty much sums it up. Last night we were sitting on the couch and Jason said, "We're going to be parents in like, 2 weeks." For some reason it really hit me then that I actually have to go through labor and bring a child into this world, and have to take care of it for the rest of my life. I mean, I obviously knew that going into this, but it's still slightly overwhelming now that it could happen any day! I started to get really anxious and needed a lot of reassurance that we would be able to do it.
Baby: Measured at 35 weeks at my appointment this week. Still consistently 2 weeks behind, which is fine with everyone, including me! Heartbeat was in the 120s...midwives are still thinking boy based on that, but we'll see! S/he is still kicking and hiccuping and wriggling around in there. It's amazing that it can survive inside breathing in water one minute, and will be outside breathing in air the next. Can't wait to meet him or her!!
Other: Even though I started my new part-time job this last week, it still has been wonderful not working all day every day. I've taken a couple of naps, got a pedicure with some friends, and got the house cleaned up a little more. I am so thankful for this part time job, and so thankful that we can make ends meet with me staying home. After we have the baby, I will only be working as a health coach on Monday and Thursday nights from 5-7, and Saturday mornings from 8-12, if we have patients that want those appointments. I also might be doing some clerical work from home during the day, but only if that portion of the job gets approved, since it's still a new department.
Prayer Requests: If you're the praying type and would like to join us in prayer, here is what is on my heart this week...
- My nerves--starting to get more anxious about having a baby!
- A fast delivery when it's time
- Favor with Carle...we only get 4 bands to hand out to people, and we have 5 parents total, so we're hoping they will give us favor and give us an extra band so that all 5 parents can have one.
Thanks!

Praying for your whole list! They NEVER checked our bands. My sister, brother, and 4 parents were there most of the time and it was no problem! Hoping you have the same experience.
Word on the belly ring stretch mark! That's the only one I ever got. :)
Are you planning on having everyone there for the birth? Is that what the bands are for? Just curious because I don't remember them from my Carle days.
Also, I'm so sorry about last week. Tuesday came and went - it wound up being such a busy week. I missed seeing you, but now all this means is that next time we see you we'll get to meet Baby Rackow.
xoxo!
