This is a week overdue, but I just didn't really feel like writing about it yet. Grandma's comeback didn't last very long, and she passed away last week, on Tuesday afternoon. It was very peaceful, she was at home with her sons, their wives, and a few grandkids looking on. Mom said her breathing just slowed down a lot, and finally she just didn't keep breathing. Of course it was sad, but also a quietly dignified way to pass away. Of course I cried when I found out, but there was a feeling of relief that went along with it. It was so touch and go for awhile, and emotionally exhausting for everyone. "It was time," and "She's in a better place," really are true in her situation. She will be missed.
Jason and I drove up on Saturday evening, and had lunch with the whole family on Sunday. Her services were last night (Monday), and the pastor there did a great job of telling stories from her life, and making the service truly about Jesus calling her home. It was beautiful.
We drove back to Champaign early this morning, leaving my parent's house around 5:30. Everyone is tired, but it will be good to get back into the swing of life not on hold. Thanks to all of you who prayed for our family, it truly means a lot.

Jill --
So sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. But it's a blessing that her life is perpetuated in the life you are carrying. Blessings to you and yours.
