The most pee I have ever seen.

Last night was a bad night, folks, relatively speaking of course. It certainly wasn't the Joplin tornado or 9-11, but it was a bad night for the Rackow household.

We went to bed around midnight after a late night game of popcorn and scrabble, knowing we did not have to get up for work this morning since we're going on a mini-vacation this weekend. Around 3:30 or 4:00 a.m., Mojo came and jumped in bed with us, which is usual. He was being annoying though, so I kicked him off. Rather than just going back over to the couch to sleep the rest of the night like he usually does, he came over and started sniffing me. About two seconds later, I heard it. I was half asleep so I thought some appliance in our house had sprung a leak. NOPE! The dog had sprung a leak. All over our bedroom. Then the hallway, then the living room, then the entry way. He just sort of moseyed on over to the front door, peeing the whooooole way there. He stopped in the hallway to give an extra puddle there.

I realized what was happening and yelled for Jason to get up fast and get the dog outside. Chaos ensued as we were both in "pajamas" (underwear), and couldn't find the leash (which we left in the kitchen). Of course, to even get to the front door, we had to walk through pee, so that was sick.

Clean-up began. I soaked it up with a towel (literally, soaking through the towel). I have no idea how the dog had that much pee in his body. It was the most pee I have ever seen. Ever. Then I got a mop, and mopped the floor. But then I realized I probably had just pushed pee all over the floor, so I got a rag and got down on my hands and knees (7.5 months pregnant, mind you), and cleaned the whole floor on my hands and knees. By the time we got the laundry started, got ourselves cleaned up and got back to bed, it was 4:45.

As I climbed back in bed, I felt it. MORE PEE. ON OUR BED. He had peed through the comforter, blanket, and top sheet, thankfully not more than that.

(Side note: a point of contention in our house is whether or not we need more than one set of sheets. I want a second set, I'm told we don't need one.)

We needed a second set of sheets. We stripped the bed, piled the soiled stuff on the floor, and pulled random blankets out of the closet to sleep with. Of course we were both paranoid the rest of the night, so Jason took the dog out again around 6 am, and I took him out as soon as I was relatively conscious around 8:45. He seems fine now. I have no idea what happened.

Thank goodness we're going on a mini-vacation today!! And thank goodness for awesome friends like Joanna, who will be spending the weekend with our pee-headed dog. Good luck, Jo.

eep!

When baby comes, you will NEED that second set of sheets, and possibly a third. Not all that often, but when stomach flu hits, having extra sheets is a big deal.
