As of today, 47 days until my "due date."
The Belly: ...has POPPED! At least, it feels that way to me. I had 2 people today comment that my belly has finally started filling out. My belly button is starting to pop out a little bit, which is cuteish, but mostly weird and slightly gross! haha. No one really needs to see the inside of their belly button.
Physically: Lots of BH contractions, but they aren't really bothersome. Towards the end of the day I start getting a little uncomfortable and feel pretty big, but nothing really to complain about. My hands and feet get swollen now after long walks, but not really bad. Rest and water afterwards make that go away pretty quickly.
Weight: I broke 150!!! Just barely, but I did. :) 21 pounds! hip hip hooray! I have been starving the last few days, so I would be shocked if I didn't gain any weight with how much I have been eating.
Food Aversons: Anything rich, and big meals.
Food Cravings: sweets! Ice cream, cupcakes, popsicles, even soda! (I can't remember the last time I actually drank soda).
Feeling: Great! I'm so thrilled that we're doing the nursery this weekend. I am still really enjoying being pregnant, and am happy and thankful that baby is healthy and a good size. I'm excited to meet this person, but I have to say, I wouldn't entirely mind if s/he stayed in there. hah! I know that sounds ridiculous, but my friend Christine (who is due a week before me) confirmed that I am not crazy, and she feels that way too. It's so nice to have this little friend with me all the time, warm and cozy in there, well cared for and happy. While I will of course be thrilled when we have the baby, part of me will be kind of sad, I think, too, that pregnancy is over. Watch, I'll probably be one of those crazy women who become basically addicted to being pregnant, and then we'll have 20 kids.
(just kidding mom, don't worry).
Baby: Moving around less, though still quite a bit. I'm not surprised, there's definitely less room in there. Some of the kicks and jabs kind of hurt, but nothing horrible. s/he still gets the hiccups multiple times a day, which is no longer cute. Sorry kid, it's just annoying. Other than that, baby is still in the exact same position s/he has been in almost the whole time. Head down, feet on my right side. I have only once felt the baby shift to feet on my left, and it lasted only for about 2 minutes. Then it flipped back the other way. It must be comfier that way, I guess!
Other: Have I mentioned that we are doing the nursery this weekend?! We're picking up the furniture and all of our baby stuff on Saturday, and my parents are coming down on Sunday to help us get everything set up. Then I will most likely spend all day on Monday organizing, cleaning, washing...sigh. I can't wait :)
We had maternity photos taken! Our friend Brad Leeb is an excellent photographer, and he did our photo shoot today at the Hallene Gateway on campus, and the Japanese Gardens. We got a preview of some of the shots and they look fabulous! Can't wait to see the final product.
Let the gestation continue.
