Yesterday I was raking out our garden area and moving walking stones to get ready to turn the soil this week, to get ready to plant (wahoo!). I went to Lowe's to buy a soil testing kit, like this:
Well, every single test showed that I need to add things to our soil. Nitrogen was WAY low, Phosphorus was low, and Potassium was also WAY low. Our soil is also too Alkaline. Sheesh! So, I'm going to need to buy a balanced fertilizer to add to the soil before planting, and also try to get the Alkaline more Neutral.
Gardening (the right way) is way more scientific than I thought!!
