1 year....in 11 days

In 11 days we will have been married 1 year. Crazy! The time has flown by, yet I feel like we've always been married. Hard to explain, I guess. This first year has been awesome. People told us that the first year is the hardest...if that is the case, then we are VERY blessed people. This year has been a blast. Being married is fun, peaceful, exciting, special, and a blessing.

Not only does our anniversary mark 1 year of being married, but it also marks 1 year of being BABY FREE. The reason I'm excited about that is because no one thought we could do it! We're using FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) to avoid getting pregnant. It's very similar to Natural Family Planning. 100% natural, no chemical birth control here. It's so easy, and has really been a blessing to us. Almost everyone doubted that it would "work." (Ever heard this joke?: What do you call couples that practice natural family planning? Parents. BAHAHAHA! ...not that funny). Anyway, to all of you that doubted FAM/NFP: we are living proof that it works just as well as chemical birth control, thank you very much. As long as you do your research and pay attention, it is 100% effective. (If you're interested, the book that I LOVE and recommend to everyone is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler).

So, for the next 11 days, we'll recap our first year together. Yay!
